So our team has appropriatly been named, Team Superchix and a DUUUDE! And let me tell you, these girls are ROCK STARS! We have been told from the beginning that we are getting a group of girls that are amazing, and we are seeing that more and more as we spend time with them. And of course...Trevor is the Greatest DUUUDE EVER!!! :o)
Yesterday training came into full swing and let me give you a taste of what we have been doing!
For our morning sessions the girls learned about their identity. With a world full of lies, we can easily find ourselves losing touch with who we are in Christ. By the end of yesterday's session the girls were declaring how they are God's beloved, healed, saved, set free ect. And it sounds oh so good to the Lords ears.
We then learned some of spiritual warfare. Don Rock led us through the Armor of God, and what it means to be prepared for some of the spiritual attacks we will be facing while we are here.
After a DELICIOUS BBQ lunch with AIM staff to celebrate the 4th of July, we took a little mission trip to meet the Fido-Bido tribe. AKA half of our team acted like natives of Fido-Bido while the other half were missionaries. This was an excercise in learning how to work with cultures who don't speak our language and being able to communicate the gospel through our cultural differences. It had us dancing around trees, splashing water on each other, and hollering "FIDO!!!" We laughed, we had fun role playing, and after a little prodding, we were able to make progress with the Fido-Bido.
We hit the team builders next, and found ourselves faced with the spider web. Crawling on our bellies we made our way through the course trying not to touch string, trees, or any other object that was in our way. It took a lot of patience, and we eventually succeeded, but the greatest thing that we saw out of the whole exercise was integrity. Mom's and Dad's, Grandma's and Grandpa's, friends and other family....your girls have GREAT INTEGRITY!!!
A few showers and dinner later we spent the evening learning how we are God's Chosen. We worshiped, listen to the heart of God through the words of Don Rock, and then watched the short film "The Most." The girls were greatly touched and changed by the love of God last night. For some, they came to the realization of what the Lord REALLY did for them.
So today, we go on, and it looks to be a good day. Thank you in advance for your prayers of unity, protection against spiritual warfare, and strength through these tiring times. Know that we adore your daughters...and honestly...We are falling in love them! WONDERFUL!
God Bless!
Kasandra, Kelsey, and Trevor
