Hi! My name is Margaret Derby and I’m from Lawrenceville, GA. I’m go to First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville, and I’m incredibly lucky to have such an amazing youth program there. I’m currently a senior at Collins Hill High School, and I’m so excited to be graduating in May! I also turn 18 on June 8th – so I have a lot to look forward to in the next couple of months, and that’s not even including this trip, which I am beyond excited about!

My parents are divorced, and because of this I’ve been blessed with a huge, supportive family. I have a younger brother who is a sophomore in high school. He is such a blessing in my life; the older we’ve gotten the closer we’ve become and I’m so thankful for that. I also have a 19-year-old step-sister who is a sophomore at the University of Georgia, and a step-brother who is a junior in high school. We are all really close and they support me in everything I do.

I was born without hand-eye or foot-eye coordination, so that pretty much eliminated me from every sport haha, so I’m really involved in the arts. I love to sing, and the chorus department at my high school is like my second home. I also did theater and danced for most of high school. I love to read and write more than anything though, and at the moment I’m planning on being an English Major.

This is my second mission trip, and my first out of the country, so I’m so excited to be going to the Philippines with you all! I can’t wait to get to know you, and you’re all in my prayers! I have a facebook, so feel free to add me!!
